Opening: It can be said that Dracula literally sucked the life out of Lucy. He sucks Lucy's blood continuously and does it multiple times. There are evidences in the text that Lucy's appearance is getting paler and her health getting weaker. Thus, Dracula is guilty for Lucy's death. When Dracula is prevented by the garlic flowers from getting close to Lucy, it is evident that her health recovers, but after Lucy's mother removes the flowers, we can see that her health gets bad again.
Lucy has become a vampire because of Dracula. We see that Lucy doesn’t like the garlic necklace and the garlic flowers around her and tear them away when she sleeps. Also, her canine teeth looks longer than the rest of the teeth, according to Seward. These are all characteristics of a vampire.
Lucy continues to draw back (get pale) and get healthy again when blood is given to her.
